Join Us for Convocation, Friday, September 5, 2008 |
Everyone is invited. The Convocation Service will be held this Friday
evening, September 5, at 7:30 PM at Covenant Reformed Church in
Sacramento. Refreshments and fellowship time will be provided
afterwards. Please note that all registered students are required to
attend this service.
Each year, City Seminary begins the academic year with a Convocation Service. The purpose of the service is for pastors from the local community to give a "charge" to the students and to the faculty, and for fellowship among members of the seminary community. The Board of Governors desires that local congregations will
help hold the seminary accountable to her mission, and to the eternal
standard of the Word of God as well as our shared, orthodox Christian faith. This year Rev. David George of Valley Springs Presbyterian Church will be giving the charge to the students, and Pastor Robert Briggs of Immanuel Baptist Church will be giving the charge to the faculty. The seminary is also pleased to be granting the M.T.S. degree to Aaron Nygren.
